Provincial Cross-Country Championships
Pre-Novice, Novice, Bantam, Intermediate
Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025
Site: Mill River Park

Welcome to the Provincial Cross-Country Championship. The event will take place at the Mill River Park just outside of O’Leary on the Western Road main highway beside the Hernewood Intermediate High School.
The run will be done further down the park this year, same location as last year, same entrance, just different courses to run further down the park.
Distances:
Pre-Novice boys and girls 1.5 km
Novice boys and girls 2.0 km
Bantam boys and girls 3.0 km
Intermediate boys and girls 3.0 km
Due to safety reasons, parents and coaches who are driving to the meet in their own vehicles are asked to park their cars in the parking lot at Hernewood Intermediate High. You will have about a one-minute walk to the site. We will have adults at the gate to direct traffic. Please advise parents ahead of time and ask them to please respect this request.

All schools will need an
onsite school representative. This can be your cross-country coach, a teacher, or a parent. Your onsite rep. will have to register your school before receiving their registration package. As per PEISAA rules
no athletes will be permitted to run without an on-site representative from your school.
We will have a corral at the starting line where athletes and coaches are to wait for their race times. Our starting line officials will line up all runners 5 minutes before each race. Please ask parents to stay away from this area.
A complete set of results will be sent to the SAA and will be posted on the PEISAA Web Site and will also be posted at the site after each race.

12:15 pm sharp for the afternoon runs. All coaches are asked to be there on time as important information will be given out

9:30 am Coaches meeting AM Run
10:00 Intermediate boys 3.0 km currently in grade -9
10:25 Intermediate girls 3.0 km currently in grade -9
10:50 Bantam boys 3.0 km currently in grade -7 or 8
11:15 Bantam girls 3.0 km currently in grade -7 or 8
12:15 pm Coaches meeting for PM Run
12:45 Novice boys 2.0 km currently in grade -5 or 6
1:10 Novice girls 2.0 km currently in grade -5 or 6
1:35 Pre-Novice boys 1.5 km currently in grade -3 or 4
2:00 Pre-Novice girls 1.5 km currently in grade -3 or 4
Eligibility: Athletes must qualify by running at your zone meets. The top 20 individual finishers per age class in each zone qualify for these championships. The top 5 teams in each zone may enter 7 runners per age class in these championships.
Scoring: All entries in each race will be counted, including those not competing with a team. The top 5 finishers from each team will count for team score.
- Note: In the case of a tie for the provincial team title, we will break the tie by looking at the 5
th place runner. The lowest placing will be the deciding factor.
Awards: The top 3 finishers in each class will receive medals and 4-10 will receive ribbons. The winning team in each age class will receive a provincial bar.
Please note: the SAA will be charging a price of admission of $ 2.00 to all adults entering the competition site. Pre-school and students are free. Upcoming Events
